Korean Minor

The Korean minor offers students a dynamic gateway to Korea’s language, culture, and global influence—past and present. Students build practical communication skills in Korean language classes while taking courses taught in English that explore Korean history, contemporary society, media, literature, and linguistics in real-world contexts. The courses emphasize communication, cultural competence, and critical analysis that translate beyond the classroom. Designed to complement a wide range of majors, the Korean minor supports study abroad experiences, internships, and professional opportunities connected to Korea and the Asia Pacific region. Students gain globally relevant skills for careers in international business, technology, education, government, media, cultural industries, and graduate study. Housed in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, the program fosters a supportive learning environment that prepares students to navigate an interconnected world with linguistic confidence and cross-cultural insight.
