Interior Architecture (MS)

The post-professional Master of Science interior architecture degree program allows individuals to complete advanced research that builds on an undergraduate professional degree in interior design/architecture or architecture.

Eligible applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited four-year U.S. college or university OR hold an equivalent credential from a qualifying international institution.

This degree provides an opportunity for advanced study and contribution to knowledge in the field through the thesis. The course of study prepares students for careers in research, teaching, consulting, and further graduate study. Students will also gain a greater understanding of the relationship between the discipline and the profession while working closely with faculty mentors helping to guide individual research. This degree does not provide a path to licensure.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate mastery of subject content and technical skills through course work.
  • Demonstrate effective artistic, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Develop independent research, technical, and/or professional skills to carry out and report on MS thesis or Final Project as outlined in the Graduate handbook.
  • Demonstrate pedagogic ability in teaching and/or supervising undergraduate learning.

Postprofessional Master of Science Degree Requirements

The postprofessional program is for individuals with an undergraduate professional degree in architecture or interior architecture. This degree provides an opportunity for advanced study and contribution to knowledge in the field through the thesis. The course of study prepares students for careers in research, teaching, consulting, and further graduate study.
